A Seminary (the training place for priests) derives its meaning from the word nursery. Just like a nursery for plants, it is a place in which seeds that were planted are nurtured until the time in which they are transplanted. Just like a nursery for children, it is a place in which the child is trained to become a worthy and integral member of the family. In the sense of the Church, the nursery/seminary is a place in which seedlings are nurtured and God's children are trained to be priest.
